Steve Rosenberg is the BBC’s Russia editor.

After studying Russian at university, he moved to Moscow in 1991 and since then has charted the transformation of the country – from the conflict in Chechnya and the Beslan school siege to President Putin’s rise to power and the impact of the current war against Ukraine.

His musical passions include - perhaps unsurprisingly - Russian composers such as Rachmaninov, but his choices also draw on childhood memories and the many hours he spent watching TV. Steve is a keen pianist, and he recalls the moment he played for President Gorbachev, who sang Russian songs to his accompaniment. Steve also posts piano improvisations and compositions on social media - anything from Postman Pat in the style of Tchaikovsky to a piece he wrote inspired by birds sitting on a telegraph wire.

The 42nd Edinburgh International Harp Festival takes place this weekend! Harpist Rachel Hair joins Paddy live to talk about all the incredible concerts, courses and workshops happening in our capital city over the weekend.

Visiting the festival are two of Sweden's finest musicians. Erik Ask-Upmark and Anna Rynefors both hold the title of “Riksspeleman” or "Official Master Musicians of the Realm" - the most prestigious honour bestowed upon a performer of traditional music in Sweden. Together, they’re known as Dråm and have gained international reputation as guardians of the rich treasure trove of Swedish traditional music. Dråm join Paddy live in session with a host of Nordic sounds - including the nyckelharpa (a keyed fiddle), the säckpipa (Swedish bagpipes), the härjedalspipa (wooden flute) and, of course, the harp.
